Paul Currie is a man versed in Scotch whisky, but with a soul deep-rooted in the Lake District of England. It just seemed appropriate, and moreover, felt right that he start his own English distillery in a place that was both home and a source of inspiration.

And, what gloriously inspired whiskies they craft over at The Lakes Distillery; a variety of fine blends and single malts that really showcase an excruciating level of effort only an artist can be capable of.

Dhavall Gandhi, Chief Whiskymaker at The Lakes, is the indomitable artist responsible for the form and essence displayed across the range of whiskies, as well as the gins and vodkas produced by the distillery. He is a master in his understanding of flavour infusion, maturation, and blending; an alchemist of spirits who knows exactly what the outcome is when elements are combined and aged in a particular way. Dhavall’s involvement in the crafting process is total, from the time he spends in the blending lab, to working with The Lakes’ trusted partner in Seville in the fabrication of bespoke casks.
