Lazydog Distillery was born in this creative environment and also during a global pandemic in Summer 2020, founded by passionate and aspiring distillers Matt and Lauren Thompson.

Lazydog have a clear aim – to make a truly British rum from scratch at their distillery in Leicestershire… and shout to the world about it. Imports or blends from wholesale distillers will not be used for our spirits. The necessary time, effort and research has been invested and continues to be, in developing Lazydog according to a method that is unqiue to us, the result of which is a product that stands above other commercial rum brands.

The fact that the entire process is hand-done is also a massive plus where quality concerned. Great pains are taken to ensure that the bottle of rum passed down to your hands has kept doggedly true to the brand’s defining essence of being handmade for perfection.

Every Lazydog rum is developed to be fully appreciated when drunk neat, but also hold their own very well with a mixer or as a cocktail. Each individual rum has its own unique profile and attitude going for it. Be it light and buttery-caramel, spicy with cinnamon, cloves and citrus, or sloe and steady, Lazydog delivers a stripped back drinking expereince that is immensly flavourful and soul-baringly authentic.
